Amethyst Women's Project
In Collaboration with the
Community Collaborative Committee
Invites you to its Upcoming Conference
HIV/AIDS: A Wide Spectrum
June 14, 2006 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.,
at Gargiulo's
2911 West 15th Street, Brooklyn, NY
With
this conference, we continue with our year round momentum of activities
intended to raise awareness and address issues
concerning prevention, treatment, and effective programs
and services to identify
and serve people at high risk for HIV.
This conference also serves to educate, inform, and persuade
policy makers and representatives from innumerable sectors
about the importance of partnering to advocate for funding and resources
to meet
the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS in the Coney Island and
surrounding communities.
Of particular concern are the funding needs and trends, and
their impact on New York City government policy, services,
and programs. How will our communities be affected and how do we advocate
for HIV/AIDS
prevention, treatment, supportive services and funding, are
some of the questions or concerns we will be addressing during this
conference.
Workshops will include:Expanding Voluntary
Testing and Linkage
to Care, MICA Populations & HIV/AIDS, The
Importance of Evaluation,
Multicultural Issues and HIV/AIDS Counseling and
Advocating for Resources & Funding.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
