Coordination & Collaboration
AWP participates on HIV prevention planning bodies and networks, community working groups, public forums, and at conferences and events that address HIV prevention and HIV care among women in New York. AWP is also represented on NYC’s HIV Prevention Planning Group on the Women and Children subcommittee. Additionally, Amethyst works in collaboration with the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA) in promoting partnership between community and faith-based organizations in South Brooklyn to halt the spread of HIV. Amethyst has also worked closely with the South Brooklyn Youth Consortium as part of the Communities Empowering Youth (CEY) Initiative to help build organizational capacity to better meet the needs of at-risk youth. Amethyst’s holds scores of linkage agreements with providers of primary care, substance abuse treatment services, homeless services, mental health services, and child care services among others. These agreements assure the cost effective delivery of a comprehensive continuum of care for children, youth and families and those at risk of HIV infection through an active referral network.
